The FYBOR is a one day regatta that isn’t meant to be taken seriously. It’s more a celebration at the end of the season and a chance to try new things. The Line of Excellence, the CESS pool, the free floating weather mark and the penalty mark have all been used at the FYBOR. Some ideas work and some don’t. Oh well, that’s life. This is the only regatta that punishes you for doing well.
It was a breezy cold day with the wind out of the NW that gave us a good race course for the 17 boat fleet.
As always, Nick Mortgu was the superstar handling all the important stuff like food, goodies and prizes. Truthfully, the sailing is secondary to Nick’s chili and getting to select from his prize table. Nick is the person that makes this regatta so special. We owe him a big thank you once again!!
